Rotes Kabel, Schwarzes Kabel

Thom Elysian · December 24, 2025
Berlin at night, twelve degrees below zero: the Telebus won't start. "Rotes Kabel, Schwarzes Kabel" (Red Wire, Black Wire) tells the story of an icy winter night — and a stranger with jumper cables.

About This Song

In the middle of the Berlin winter the Telebus breaks down: passengers on board, the heating dying, the display going black. Then a stranger pulls over — "Colleague, I've got what you need!" Red cable to plus, black cable to minus, and the engine roars back to life. A song about breakdown drama and unexpected helpers that continues the Telebus universe of "Telebusfahrer".

Lyrics: Rotes Kabel, Schwarzes Kabel (original German)

Intro

Yeah...
Minus zwölf Grad.
Berlin.

Verse

Hook

Rotes Kabel an Plus! (Schwarzes an Minus!)
Ein Funke Leben gegen den Winter-Blues
Rotes Kabel an Plus! (Schwarzes an Masse!)

Bridge

Hook

Rotes Kabel an Plus! (Schwarzes an Minus!)
Ein Funke Leben gegen den Winter-Blues
Rotes Kabel an Plus! (Schwarzes an Masse!)

Outro

Die Heizung läuft.
Die Scheiben sind klar.
Rotes Kabel...
Schwarzes Kabel...
Danke, mein Engel.
Wir fahren heim.
